My batteries are over 4 years old - they are the original Motorcrafts. What brands do you folks recommend?

Well I have seen alot of different opinions about batteries on here in the past. I am the type of person who wants the best bang for his buck. I replaced my batteries 2 weeks ago, original 99 models, and I bought Duralast from Autozone. I bought the Duralast 65-DL because of the peformance, price and warranty. The battery has 750 CCA's, 935 CCA's @ 32 degrees and it comes with a 6 year warranty, with the first 3 years free replacement and the last 3 pro-rated. They run $80. bucks each and that was a great deal. I shopped everywhere and every battery and this was the best. Just my $.02. :whistle:

Heck, if you got four years out of the OEM batteries maybe you should just get those again Four years is pretty good.

Well like I said, I just changed mine and they were OEM from early 99. I just didn't want to pay their price and couldn't beat the warranty.

I've used the red optimas before. Don't know part numbers but each battery comes with new hold downs that should fit in the stock battery tray.

Whatever you get go for the longest warranty, and the highest CCAs that fit the tray. I know when I need to replace mine I'll be going to the Deka Battery plant, and get the highest CCA seconds they have for the truck. You might think I'm nuts. The seconds are 1/2 the price, have a 6 months warranty, and usually last 4 or more years. Oh yea, I used to drive truck for that company. Keith

Mine are already gettin' weak because of the heat and they're only two years old! It's what we come to expect living in a desert, though... Anything over two years is gravy.
