6.0 Reliable?
I am currently in the market for a new truck considering my old 7.3 has 190000 on it and the rust is starting to eat it away. I also need a dually with a flatbed because i will be hauling much more hay with it. I have been looking for a good used 6.0 or 6.4, however, the two 6.0's i have for work have needed extensive repairs such as heads studs and have left me with a bad taste in my mouth. My question is can i trust the 6.0 long term or am i better off looking for a 6.4? thanks.

The 6.0 can be a very reliable engine, there is a guy on here by the name PgreenSVT who has a good write up on how to make a 6.0 just as reliable as any engine.
I'm sure you'll have someone come along and say that a 6.0 is the biggest POS to ever roam the earth. Please ignore these people as they usually based off a bad experiance with a motor that was improperly cared for. |

Use google next time you have a question. You might just be surprised at how many times your question has already been answered.
I typed "6.0 reliability powerstroke" and got: 6.0 Reliability 2003 6.0 Reliability 2005 6.0 HOW RELIABLE ?? Build a reliable 6.0..is it possible? Enjoy |

I can't stand him. I watched one of his videos just to see what he had to say. He read stuff wrong right off of the bottle of motorcraft coolant. I looked at a bottle at work the next day and just started laughing.
