Ford Gold Coolant or Switch to ELC

Getting head gaskets and studs done also rebuilding oil cooler and egr delete. I have a coolant filter should I switch to ELC or keep Ford Gold. Oil temp and coolant temp about 6* difference at ambiant temp 65* and 55mph on Edge Insight CTS.

Yup. Dump the Gold and get yourself some Cat EC-1 rated ELC.

Will probly catch some flack but just got back from Ford and talking to my diesel tech, canged my radiator and flushed the system was going with something other than gold till I talked to him, Rob says stay totally away from ELC in the 6.0 use only Motorcraft gold or Zerex G05 something about it in the 6.0s if ya try to save a buck now chances of getting real spendy later are very real. But that is a choice you make, Me I stayed with Gold

And I believe in the Easter Banny and Tooth Fairy. Your mechanic gave you bad information (inagine that) and it is most likely uou looking at expensive repairs down the road. When you're replacing that oil cooler and blown egr cooler it's ok to come back and eat some humble pie.

Boy you better get a flame suit on bad choise in coolant staying with the Ford Gold Cxxp coolant and Mitch there is a tooth fairy and easter bunny where do you think i get all my eggs from and the money under my pillow
