diablo Predator U7165 question

I'm using a friends unit to monitor my EOT and ECT and what I notice is one the engine temp is between 170-180 with outside temps of mid 30's (is that normal or is the thermostat shot). Also the EOT reads *C not *F and it says the EOT is 49*C that would be 121*F after a 20min drive to work. the other part of this when I use my laptop to do live monitoring and set it for F values I see a - # for the EOT.
