gas mileage

I own a 07 F-250 6.0 diesel, with 4650 miles, all stock. I'm getting poor gas mileage. I would say about 11-12 mpg, is that what it should get. I'm ready to bring it back to the selling dealer. These vehicles should get 14-+16 mpg city and somewhere around 20mpg highway empty

Whats everybody thinking?????????????

thanks, wayne

I dont know a whole lot but doesnt sound like you have broken it in yet.. i would think you have to break it in and you should/will see an increase in MPG.

when i got my 2007 i was getting about 14.2 city, first thing i did was get 4" turbo back (including downpipe), cat delete and air intake, and modified zoodad mod It jumped up to 15.2, added a intake elbow and 100hp tune from Diablo Sport and running Royal Purple syc oil. I avg. 19.4 city and 22 hwy.

Mileage varies big time with traffic. Even minor amounts of traffic will affect MPG. On my way to work, hitting a stop sign every mile, mine will get 14-16 with no traffic. On my way home, same route but with traffic, it'll only get 12-13 because I have to wait at those same stop signs for others to get through. Freeway, I've seen 19-20 if I stay around 60-65. And all these figures are with Innovatives "Extreme Street" file loaded.

20mph highway!!! omg I wish. I get 15mpg cruisin' 70mph. You are driving a big *** diesel truck don't get your hopes up on mpg's. Someday, expect 20mph after it's broken in.

I have a 2006 that initially got 13 mpg city and 16 highway when new. Now it has 10000 miles, and I get 15 city and 18 highway, totally stock. I am takeing it to South Carolina next month, and thinking about running Diesel Kleen in it for the journey, just to see if it improves mileage any.

I have noticed a big difference from when it was new till now. Its quieter, and definitely getting better mileage. As it breaks in, it will improve.

Also just a suggestion if your going by the mileage puter inside the truck try a few tanks with the trusty hand calc to make sure your puter is working right.

Mine's got 8000 on it and it gets 14-16 in the city and 16-18 on the highway. The best I've seen is 19.3 on a run from CC to San Antonio, going 65mph.
