defrost air only

my truck only blows air through the defrost vent i changed the vacuum solenoid
with no luck how can i test the vacuum pump i don't hear any noises from the pump its self is it supposed to make some kind of noise??

I had a cut line in mine....it was right under the hood on the passenger side...looked like it got caught in the hood or something...no air, and my 4x4 didnt work...

Def a vacuum problem, most likely the pump died, happened to me. In mine, I think there is a cut in the line somewhere cause the pump to run more than it should.

I replaced mine with one from Rockauto: More Information for DORMAN 904214

Have to browse the catalog to your vehicle to find it. But the price difference is crazy compared to ford, but its not a motorcraft part, I havent had any issues with mine tho.

You're going to have to do some troubleshooting. You may have a leak in one of your lines....or even in your hub.
