'06 PSD Check eng. light

hey guys, new to this forum/6.0L... Has been vary helpful too. I have had this happen to me twice (2x) now... Check engine light comes on while getting onto the freeway/accelerating...Then goes out when the truck is off for a bit(5 minutes or so). Any feedback or K-nowledge??? Thanks guys.

You are going to have to have the codes pulled before we can help you out.

I figured as much...only problem is, that when I go to have them pulled to see...Either it doesn't read any fault (while the light is still on), or it turns off when I turn the truck off. That's why I was asking you boys, here??? To me, this is odd/weird.

If the CEL comes on then there IS a code in memory. Doesnt matter if the truck is on or off. You need to get it hooked up to a good scan tool.

Does the truck do anything weird when the light comes on?

when it comes on, I am on the freeway, does not seem to run any different. Accelerates as it usually does. For sure I will have it scanned again and see if/what pops up as a code. Both times it came on was when I hit the pedal merging onto the freeway...
