RIM OFFSET DIFFERENCE FROM 2004 TO 2005 MODELS???
I found a set of MT 17" wheels for sale but I think that they are for an earlier model than my 2005 and wanted to know how much difference in offset there is? I don't want something that will stick out of the fender well much and throw rocks against the doors. Anyone run the different offset and know about how they look, handle and sling debris on the truck? Any pics would be great. The tires on them now are 285/70-17 BFG's and appear to be pretty good tread left. I'm really looking more to go to a stock sized tire though with more of a highway tread more sutiable for towing on the highway.

Anyone with a set of stock 5 spoke 17" rims in good condition want to work a trade for factory 20" 5 spokes? I may be interested in that as well. These 20's look great but I just think I need to be geared down a little for the heavier towing that I do, if I had 4.10's the 20's would stay
I have the stock type Goodyear Wrangler's 275/65-20 and they are probably in the 65-70% tread life range.

OK, further reading and I see that with aftermarket rims you have numerous options for backspacing and offset so not just matched to factory for a certain year, make and model vehicle
![]() The more I learn about a subject, leads to the realization of there being way more to know about that subject, which in turn leaves me feeling less intelligent than before learning about it in the first place.

4.5" of backspacing on the 04 and earlier trucks. 5-5.5" of backspacing on the 05+ trucks depending on the model of the wheel.
