Is this another filter.

In the process of doing my coolant flush today I noticed what looks to be another filter housing. Under the truck basically right above the bottom radiator hose is a housing that looks like the oil and fuel filter caps on the top of the engine. Not real sure what it goes to maybe the tranny cooler. Hopeing somebody can tell me if it is a filter and if I should replace it.

If it’s on the passenger side it’s the external trans filter.

That is your external transmission fluid filter (A.K.A. "toilet paper roll" filter).
