fuel gauge

so i went to buckeys today to get some fuel. my neighbors gave me a fuel car for clearing their snow this year bla bla bla. anyway it was for $25 so i already have half a tank. i put $25 in(almost 8 gal) and the fuel gauge only moved 1/8. i left it running when i fueled it up. like i always do. usually in a couple of miles the truck will register the fuel. well today it only went 1/8 and thats it Ive drove about 30 miles and still hasn't moved. shut the truck off etc... wtf is going on?

also ive noticed since i got the truck. i can fill it all the way up and ill burn through half a tank in about 150 miles. but when it gets to almost half way it doesn't drop like it does for the first 1/2. but im still getting about 450 miles out of a tank. (24 gal tank)

was that as clear as mud?

was it a recall at one time or something. or is there not a fix

The fix is to turn your truck off when you fuel it. If I fill my tank the gauge doesn't move for the first 100 miles or so. 39 gallon tank.
