considering 04 e350 with 104-120k
I'm looking at buying an 04 e350 with 104k on the clock but given a 15% larger tire diameter more likely to be @120k. An email from the owner indicates
"Has any major work been done on the engine or transmission? New turbo under warranty. An electrical short in the van body - warranty. Rear oil seal under warranty. One more turbo part about 10,000 miles ago." My main questios are: Is this early replacement of the turbo and generally a lack of other problems in the first 120k miles indicative at all of how reliable this engine will be? Are the failures that have happened on this model and year engine usually all encountered before this kind of mileage? Is Turbo replacement under warranty likely to have improved the engine as far as reliability goes. Is this high mileage for this particular model engine? I'm aware that these are general questions I'm just trying to get a feeling as to what I might be getting into. thanks, Mike |
