WTB Ect and Eot monitor

I have heard of the edge insight and they sell for about $399. Are there any other real time monitor kits that bring all the necessary hardware to monitor my engine cooling temperature and engine oil temperature that are more economical? I want to make sure that my temps are less than 15* apart. Thank you. Anything else you guys recommend I monitor?

I got my insight for $200. It cost me another $90 for my exhaust probe, but you could do without that for now if you want.

the edge insight CS is only 299.00.. that will monitor the 2 things you want... or you can find a used older insight for about 200 bucks...

I got a ScanGauge II. They list for $169. It will read Ewt and Eot. You do have to program the Eot but it is easy.

I checked the webpage but i do not see where it says that it monitors engine oil temperature in the 12 things it monitors, i may have missed it. oooops, I think i just read on your post about the program for eot, is that extra? Thanks again.

That is there basic 12 things it monitors. It has what is called X-gauges. No extra cost, X-gauges is part of the unit. It lets you set it up for different trucks/cars. You could use it on your other trucks/cars if you need to. Look up what it says about X-gauges on there site. You have to input data to set up other things that it can moitor. For the 6.0 it list 8 other monitors.
Injection Control Pressure - PSI
Fuel Pulse Width -- Micro seconds
Mass Fuel Desired -- Mg per Stroke
Volume Fuel Desired -- Cubic mm
Engine Oil Temperature -- Degrees F
Exhaust Back Pressure -- BP PSI
Manifold Air Temperature -- Degrees F
IPR Duty Cycle -- %

I have input all of them and have not got a couple to read. I might have just input the information wrong and I need to recheck. The set up is easy. You have 4 gauges you can watch at one time. It does not have EGT set up for it-- that is a draw back for some people. I got my in Dec. when they were running a special $$ on them.

X2 on the scangaugeII. I bought mine just to monitor ECT and EOT. You can display four gauges at once so I also monitor tranny temp and voltage with it. Granted, it does'nt monitor EGT and it does'nt have audible alerts like the insight, but if your on a budget, it works.
