Coolant for 6.0
I just dropped my truck off for an injector replacement, egr delete, oil cooler replacement, powermax turbo install, 6.4 banjo bolts, blue spings, and upgraded fuel regulator, and once I get her back im going to drain and flush to coolant system. I have seen post on other forums saying the ford gold coolant ws not so good to use ( I do have a coolant filtration kit from diesel site installed already), but they did not say why it wasn’t so good to use. Im considering buying the Evens coolant but want some opinions as it costs double the amout of ford gold. Has anyone here used it or have any other recommendations. I do like the idea of not adding water (boiling point not laziness) to the coolant. I would like to hear some feed back on this.
Thanks |

Seems like people on here swear by CAT ELC. People say anything that is "ELC" is better than the Ford Gold.

I'll check it out I was looking at Evens NPG+ I guess the ELC is just and addative like the NPG

No ELC isn't just an additive. The suggestion is for a Cat EC-1 rated ELC not necessarily Cat ELC. It is the spec that is important. The silicates in the Ford G-05 coolant are what clog up the oil cooler, then the egr cooler rupture and blown head gaskets follow. There are lots of folks selling EC-1 rated ELC and it will say so on the bottle. Cat, Rotella, Delo, Zerex, Prestone...

Ok so it's good no matter what brand so long as its EC-1 rated ELC. After reading the Ford gold post im gonna avoid it big time. When I flush my system (will be done at home) is there any certain flush or tips you would reccommend to help lessen the chance of my new cooler clogging as the in the thead?
