Bad New thermostats

Just wondering how often it happens. The frequency of installing a new Motorcraft poor performing thermostat.

When regular driving (in cool or cold weather it runs up to 194) but, My truck wont maintain 194 ECT when towing in cool weather. Dont think its a air lock cause all the hoses (that I checked), and degas tank are heatin up. I was Towing about 5-6 thousand pound gooseneck and favorited furry hooved riding pal, and EOT got up highest around 212, EOT got highest aroun 224.

Since I remember monitoring my 06, it runs right around 180. Too cold?

Adam,

From what I know, I'd have to say your thermostat is opening alittle soon, but it's not too far off. Most seem to have thermostats that operate between 185-194 degrees

I got a "new" bad one. Wouldn't get over 183-186 when cold out. Now with a "new" replacment it runs at 192-196 in the same outside temps. I also got a "new" bad block heater in the same shot. At least I only had to drain the coolant once.

I'm planning on changing over to ELC, so I suppose I'll change the t-stat at the same time. See what I end up with then.

Thanks,

Adam
