Lets talk block heaters
live in texas so i really don't need one, but once the winter rolls around and dips into the 20's on start up i get a fair amount of white smoke. EGR is deleted, only happens when temps drop down low (for here). no trouble starting, but is it recommended to prevent the smoke?

Your truck will still smoke some what, but your engine will be nice and toasty when you start it. 3 hours of plug in time should net your engine temp right around 100 degrees. And oil temp will be above 85.
Your truck will like it. Temps by the hour: Block Heater Temps...by the hour. |
