4X4 hub question

I have been reading that some ppl upon getting their superduty's immediately remove the auto/lock hubs and replace them with the free/lock hubs. Why is that, I thought auto is free until u turn the switch or manual select 4x4 ? I have the auto/free and have a vacuum problem due to I guess not installing my new hub seals in right, so I just lock them in when I need them.

any info would be greatly appreciated...

Some say the "taking of lives" is never justified. It is those who employ others to protect them so that they do not have to face that choice.

that is correct. if you have esof that doesn't work correctly you would need to manually lock in the hubs to engage 4wd

with superduty hubs vacuum locks the hub in and no vacuum releases them
