And it's just that easy too, maybe 30 minutes tops. I cleaned my last week at 60k miles and although it wasn't too bad looking it made a big difference in how the truck ran after, especially the idle quality. Get new o-rings and base gasket, they're cheap and why risk the old stuff anyway? Simple fast worthwhile maintenance job, and can prevent a lot of problems down the line.

Just pulled it. WOW!! This thing is nasty! Kinda makes me worry since my truck only has 29k miles. Looked down inside the EGR passageway, and it was just as nasty. No standing fluid, but a lot of pasty gunk. Should I be worried?!?

Mine looked exactly the same at 60k miles. Not really bad IMHO, I've seen way worse.

It is scary to think of what the inside of the manifild looks like. my egr looked the same when i pulled it. Lots of chuncks fell off when i pulled it out of the hole. I stuck a shop vac nozzle in there to try and suck them out.
