2007 just purchased w 52k, now what?

I just bought a 2007 6.0 with 52k on it. I've read about all the issues these motors can have and want to do my best to limit any issues. These are the items I plan to address within the next 30 days or so, more for piece of mind than anything. I have a year and 3 months left on my warranty, so I do not want to delete or remove anything till the warranty is up.

Oil Change; Rotella T-6 10w30, with OEM oil filter.
Complete coolant flush; coolant system cleaner (Restore?) refill with ELC from Cat.
Coolant filter from Diesel Site
ECT power programmer tuned for reliability. (auto trans)
Edge Insight to keep an eye on everything.

The truck already has a full 4" exhaust. It looks like it goes all the way to the turbo and has no cat. I've looked all over for a name and can't tell what brand it is.

Are there any other issues that need to be addressed at this time?

I have the log book for the truck and the oil was changed every 5k for the last 30k miles. Also the fuel filters were both replaced at 51k miles.

I bought the truck on Thus, drove to Phoenix on Friday. This truck did so great, I love it, it’s one of the best vehicles I've ever bought.

I actually meant the SCT X3, thanks for the correction.

Now, where do I order the X3 and maps from? I have a local dealer but I'm not sure how much experience they have with diesel trucks. Can a tuner make me a good custom map without having the truck there?

You can buy the X3 wherever you want. All of the tuners can write you decent tunes and email them to you. You then download them to the X3 and then with the X3 to the PCM through the OBD II port.

That's how most of us get our tunes. There may be some back and forth tweaking for your preferences But since most of us have basic bolt on stock trucks it isn't real hard to tune for most of us.

I would recommend installing the updated fuel pressure regulator spring also. And you will need an additional sending unit and gauge for fuel pressure and EGT.
