Buying a 6.0 with high miles

Hey guys, I am looking for opinion good or bad on purchasing a 6.0 with 98K miles on it? Looking at an 05 Crew Cab DRW auto. From inspection it looks well kept for the miles. It is a two owner truck and was traded in on a new Duramax.

I had an 04 Crew Cab DRW 6.0 I bought with 51K and in the 10K miles I had it, the truck was flawless except for the notorious engine leaks. Had to sell unfortunately but now want back in the game.

It is at a Chevy dealer but they are open to me taking it to a Ford dealer for inspection. Ford dealer said they "might" give me the Oasis. I know the Oasis helped a bunch picking the right truck when I bought my 04.

Thanks.

An '05 with 98K miles is just getting broken in for a diesel. Granted there have been 2 previous owners but maybe the second was a chevy fan (did I say that out loud) at heart but wanted to see what a powerstroke was all about. You did say it's at a chevy dealer and they probably want it off their lot.

Have the ford dealer check it out and see if they can get you an oasis on it....if not find another ford dealer and see if they can from the VIN.

The '07 I bought a little over a month ago had 138K on it and currently has 141K.....no problems so far. One owner truck that had been dealer maintained with a clear service record.

I would have no issues buying a high mile 6.0. A friend of mine just baught one in PHX AZ. 200,000 miles ZERO on the oasis report. I told him to get a set of gauges and go from there. It is still tight and runs good!

Thanks guys. I think I need re-educated on high miles when it comes to a diesel lol

I figured it should be ok with those miles but want to make sure. I know some of you guys have lots more miles than 98K and going strong.

I think they do want it off their lot. It is hidden well in the back out of sight behind all the new 1500 Silverados. Hopefully this diamond in the rough checks out good. Been itching to get back into a 6.0 for awhile now.
