is this bad?
I went out to the beach on the 4th to watch the fireworks and when I put the truck into 4 wheel drive there was a loud clunk. After that the truck seemed fine. Two weeks ago I had my front alignment done and my four wheel drive was engaged for no reason at all. The mechanic rolled my front tire to show me and the front drive shaft was turning but the electronic 4x4 was off and the hubs were not locked. I rolled the tire backwards and then forwards and it stopped rotating the front drive shaft! So, I wasn't worried about it until the day at the beach. I hate taking my truck to the dealer. They never get it back to me on the same day. I guess I need to though. Anyone else have problems like this?
Thanks for any info Scott |

Make sure that you put it in 4 w/d before you get into a situation, if you were stopped and engaged it and started to spin and then heard the clunk, that was the front engaging. You need to drive it a couple of feet to engage everything. If your in cold climates, it may take longer to engage.
