is head gasket blown
im new and have read alot of post. i have a 07 350 with 6.0. im loosing coolant. i have noticed a lose in power since i bought it a year ago. but the coolant issue is recent. aswell as coolant loss im not getting the engine temps i used to. i have some heat in cab. the motor will not reach normal temp it did have. i replaced the thermostat with no help. when i drive it it warms up slightly but cools off when idling. the truck is 100% stock. any help would be great. thanks

Little short on info How many miles on it do you still have warranty with it be an 07 How is the degas tank--at the add mark when cold this is the new cold full mark. Has the coolant ever been changed The dash gauges are a joke when they move it is to late. Need gauges to tell the difference in EOT-ECT max 15* more than that your coolers are plugged. ![]() 2 stroker |

thanks for the info sorry it has almost 67,000 on it and still under the 100,000 5 year warrenty. i filled it to the full mark when it was running and it was shut down when i saw it was low about a 1/4 to 1/2 in lower than the mark. im not sure about the updated marks will have to look. the coolant hasnt been totally changed have put 2 gallons back new from thermo replace.

well too the truck to dealership. they check everything they said. they told me it was the thermostat. i have put 2 of them in the truck in a year both from advanced. bought one from the dealer and installed. wouldnt you know it fixed the temp prob. they put the latest updates in it for $65 and charged $180 to diagnoise the prob. it would have been better to be the head gaskets or egr they are under warrenty for $100 debuctible.

Take it back to the dealer. They didn't fix the problem so there should not be another diag fee.

spoke to the machanic today and he said it needs flushed. said its iron or something like that. the bad part is i dont think the warrenty will cover that so i will just do myself. needless to say my local dealer is piss poor!!!!!

You have a failed EGR cooler and or oil cooler causing the issue. Flushing it is just going to "band-aid" the problem. Take it to another dealership so someone that knows what they are doing can look at it.
