EGR Delete Kit

My mechanic tells me that a EGR Delete Kit will cure 90% of the problems with my 2005 6.0. Can anyone confirm this and explain what this kit actually does?

Its will eliminate the problem with the EGR cooler failure, cut out the carbon buildup in the intake and probably cut back on your turbo getting sticky vanes. The other major player that need replaced is the oil cooler while you are down in there doing the delete kit. Do you have something to monitor your ECT and EOT temps?
