ANY PURGING OR PRIMING NEEDED AFTER TEAR DOWN A 6.0?
I'm about to have my 6.0L back together after putting in new head gaskets, and replacing the HPOP STC fitting, dummy plugs and standpipes and oil cooler and was wondering since all the oil in the HPOP system is drained do I need to fill this system with oil before trying to start the truck? I know to put oil in the truck but wanted to know if I should fill the reservoir below the oil cooler before puting the engine oil pump back on? I see a plug in the top of the HPOP and was wondering if it was a priming opening that oil should be added to? Anything else I may be over looking or tips on initial start up would be appreciated.
