Alum. Billet oil filter cap specs??
For those of you who have the billet oil filter cap, have any of you check to see if the aftermarket billet caps are the exact depth and clearances as the stock plastic caps?

Great question. I have wondered the same thing. An OEM sized cap is every bit as important as OEM filters!

I just installed the Amsoil Bypass system with the billet caps. I would like to assume that Amsoil got it right. Maybe one of the rep/dealers will chime in and verify this for us.

You got a lot of non-name brand caps being sold on e-bay and other sites!!

I got mine from NUC motor sports, I assumed that they are the same fit as oem.

They may be the same fit, but if the depth of the cap is wrong the filter wont hit the oil bypass valve and oil drain valve.

yup. Thanks for the thought. I will take it off some time and measure it.

Your gonna need to measure the inside of the cap where it bottoms out, the inside on top of the lip where the filter snaps into, and the outside part above the o-ring there's that lip to the end of the cap where the threads start.

I believe the outer lip above the o-ring is the stop. You should be able to get a measurement from the bottom of that lip to the end of the filter. Your gonna need to snap the filter into the billet one then the stock plastic cap to get the readings.
