Factory wiring for different models.

Does Ford make a different wiring harness for each model ie. xlt, lariat, king ranch etc. I have an xlt and say I buy an electronic piece from a King Ranch that my truck don't have will the wiring be there just tucked away somewhere or would I have to get the proper harness.

Thanks

I am curious about this as well. My wife has a base model toyota fj cruiser and hers has all the wiring for the options we have added. I am hoping ford does this as well. I added speakers to the rear in an 05 crewcab I had and the wires were there, waiting for me.

It depends on which electronic equipment you are talking about. No not every truck is completely wired up for every option though.

I have no idea about model differences. I do, however, know that different years of 6.0s are wired COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. Fuses and fuse boxes in a given years truck are not always the same in a different years truck. This doesn't answer your question, I know, but it's good to know when something quits working and someone with an 06 tells you to replace fuse #14 under the steering column and it's fuse # 04 under the hood (just an example). Hope this helps someone.
