Good idea.
I've installed aftermarket stereos in the glovebox on my previous vehicles, leaving the factory one in plain view. |

Yeah I've always liked doing it too. Before I went crazy with my current mustang, I always tried to keep the the sleeper look. My gauges were always in custom mounts in the glove box and just out of sight.

Great idea! I just ordered an insight CS and really don't want to mount it on the dash. Please keep us updated as you go.

I have my gps in that little glove box. Surprisingly the suction cup mount fits in there and stays stuck the top of the box. I just ordered my insight today and I'm gonna mount it up on the edge of the dash.

For those that are interested. Here is stage two and what it will look like when done. Next is some bondo to give it a smooth factory look and some paint to match the interior. I think I'm gonna like it when I'm done.
![]() You can see some small gaps, but that will all get sealed up with the final filler and paint and this is the view from my driving position. Without the crappy cell phone camera it is still very easily visible and readable without moving from a relaxed driving position.
