Well since July I have been dumping money in the ol truck. I started with a RCD egr delete and a new oil cooler rebuild. That was my first major repair on this truck or any other diesel. The only no-no i had was I broke the black piece that the oil filter goes on. A $70 no-no. I got all the turbo bolts off no problem and it ran when i put it back together! And yes my EGR cooler was bad.
Next, I had developed a bad pull to the right and some cupping on the front tires. Got to looking and the passenger side upper and lower ball joints were bad. Stripped them out and took it to get an alignment and they were nice enough to tell me my drivers side was ball joints were bad too. A few days later I yanked them out and got the alignment. Still pulls a little to the right but they swear its aligned and its my tires??
Finally the fat man in the red suit brought me 4 new billstien shocks. Yes I am 27 and my mom still buys me good christmas gifts (I ain't tellin her to stop either!). I put them on yestarday and WOW what a difference! I love driving my truck even more now! Its like it floats on air!!!!
Now its just tires and a poly sway bar bushing kit. Im hoping that will fix the "clunk". Tires are going to the 285/75 Kumho AT's.
I don't post alot but I am on here cruising all the time. A BIG THANKS to everyone that has helpfull posts on here. I woudln't even have started alot of these repairs without the knowledge from on this forum. It gives me just enough confidence to get myself in a bind and in over my head.....quick! hahaha
