Question 6.0 Fuel Filters

OK, getting ready to change the fuel filters. Just wondering if any of you have ordered filters off of ebay. They are way cheaper than getting them from Ford. I have found one guy that seems to sell a lot of them. Here is a Item number: 280129945602. Just wondering if anyone had any info on this.

as sensative as 6.0's are to fuel pressure....i would be scared of a generic brand filter without seeing some test resulsts AND having some sort of a garantee...thats just my two cents though....

if it was a 7.3...i wouldnt worry so much...but 6.0's are VERY fuel pressure sensitive..and the filters play an heavy role in that...

I do realize that, is why I was wondering if anyone had any more info on the ones on ebay. That guy says that these meet the ford specs. Just wondering if that is for real or not?

Also, does anyone have the fuel filter kit part number?

Is this both of them? Motorcraft FL2016 and FD4604.

Logan, not sure if I would use those. Why not go to an IH dealer and buy the fuel filter kit for $34. Also, wait for Fram oil filters to go on sale (2 for $7 coupon) at Schucks Auto Supply. I guess I'm not sure if you have a Schucks, but I believe there is another auto supplier that runs these deals as well.

Those are no name filters and I don't think I would use them. I have gotten some Motorcraft off of Ebay and they worked fine.
Good Luck.

Those fuel filters are junk. I get Racors from Shop Diesel - Diesel Performance & Diesel Exhaust for $31. They are on sale right now. This is the same filter that goes in at the factory. Also, I look for filters with tan plastic and the cotton gause-type rail-mounted filter.

Also when it comes to oil filters, make sure the filter is made in Germany and preferebly is shrink-wrapped with the o-ring inside it. I like the Fram 9549(?). I bought 10 of them from a salvage store for $8 each. I have found them reduced for $3 at Wal-mart - trainee must have been marking prices that day.

Those filters are made in a TS, QS, ISO certified factory. I wouldn't hesitate to use 'em.

For oil filters i picked up some of these
