MBRP Turbo Back installed! Question...

So I installed my MBRP 4" Turbo back last night. It sounds sick when getting on the gas but when at idle it sounds like ***! Just sounds like its pushing air and does not sound good to me at all. Whats up with this? is there a way to make it better? My buddy has a duramax with the same exhaust and his does the same thing but only till the truck is warmed up.

thats the turbo at idle. do you have a muffler, if not that will prolly get rid of some of that noise. i like it...ha

I love the turbo spooling sound at tidle. I have the same exhaust and love it. You will grow into the sound, i appreciate it becuase its so unique from alot of peoples exhuast. Haha sounds like a jet. But as for doing something about the sound i think the only way to damper that sound is what travisH3 said, put a muffler on it but then you wont have that badazz exhuast sound when driving down the road.

Yeah I guess I do kinda like it, I think when i first started it up I was expecting it to sound like a gas V8. But i do love how it sounds when its reved up! I have no muffler or cat on it. Now I just want to blow some black smoke out of it!

I too was expecting something totally different, but I love it. I like to see the expression on someone's face who hasn't heard my truck before when I start it up.

i have the straight pipe for over a year on mine and im starting to get sick of it, at 430 in the morning leaving for work, all you hear is a loud wistle outside which is probably ticking the neighbors off, would kind of like to get something quieter

What kit did you end up doing? I'm gonna be ordering mine soon, and I know the performer series I think is only like $260, but I think it has a lot of joints and uses all brackets.

I am getting ready to buy the 4" MBRP no cat but I am getting a muffler. I figure that will be nicer if I am running up the highway. I'm getting it from FCDP Adam is a great guy!

I thought it sounded like a vacuum at first too...but then you get used to it and now i love the straight pipe sound.

I have the MBRP kit. I had a bit of resonance on the inside with the muffler. I went straight pipe and I cant even hear anything with my windows up. Now, in the AM warming up. She is screaming for my neighbors! lol
