Engine gets quiet

First off let me say this is a great site and I have gained a wealth of knowlege from it. The problem I'm having is after the engine is warmed up it gets quiet once in awhile only when I'm excelerating. It loses the diesel motor sound for a few seconds then goes back to normal. I don't notice any power loss so I don't know I did a full egr delete, oil cooler, and coolant filter about 13 months ago ( that was fun 2 full days in my driveway, but well worth it ) so far absolutley no issues with those repairs. I'm using rotella 5w-40 full synthetic oil 2k since last change. I will be changing my fuel filters this weekend they have about 10k on them, that could be part of the problem. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm pretty sure that is perfectly normal. I think mine does the same thing.

Engine gets quiet-Update

I got around to changing the fuel filters this past weekend and they were pretty dirty. That definetly was the problem. It runs so much better, no more fluctuation with engine sound. It does have more power and I believe I'm getting a little better mpg. Its amazing how fuel filters play such a big part in how these engines run!
