Exhaust oprions
right now my truck has the stock down pipe wich i believe is 3" with a 4" piece welded to it no cat no muffler exits right before the right rear tire. would it be in my best interest to put on a full turbo back 4" muffler or no muffler? im not worried about the sound because right now with nothing it sounds fine just curiuos about what will be best for performance?
thanks |

So do you have cat and muffler delete pipes? Or a stock down pipe with a 4" cat back with a cat delete pipe?
The stock system is a 3" down pipe to the flange, then 3.5" to the tail pipe. If you have the cat and muffler delete pipes, going to a 4" cat back, or 3.5"dp to 4" system, or a total 4" system, the only difference is more sound. If you get a bigger system you will lose some low end TQ, that is where the mpg is. Last edited by smokersteve; 01-03-2011 at 08:53 AM. |
