Quick ? about oil filter patent numbers

Let me start off by saying I WILL ONLY USE Motorcraft and/or Racor filters in my rig. I came across a filter at O'Reilly's, it is their Microguard store brand and it has the same identical patent numbers on it that the Motorcraft filter does.

So here's my question......
Would having the same patent numbers on the filter indicate that it was a "repackaged" Racor?

Motocraft @ Wallyworld = $20.00
Microguard @ O'Reilly's = $13.49

Also......the instruction sheet from the O'Reilly's is also identical to the Motorcraft instructions, even down to the "Instruction Part Number 21743 Rev D" printed at the bottom.

Same here! I would really like to use it. Same exact pattents. looks exactly the same. I asked the clerk who makes microguard and he said it was MG's own filter. So im still not sure.

If it has the same patent #'s its the same filter, repackaged.
There have been many different threads on this very subject concerning not only microguard, but also fram.

there are not many filter manufactures left. most make all the filters with different labels etc. same with some batteries just a different sticker. have o reilys get you filtration specs and compare them to motorcraft.
