Shell Rotella Ultra ELC

Has anyone ever been able to locate this stuff? I want to do the coolant flush and go with the Extended Life Coolant and figured that this one would be better due to its color (Yellow), and not be so visible in the degas bottle since I'm still under warranty.., and would resemble the Ford Gold

All other ELC's that I have been looking into are (Red) or (Strawberry) color.

The proper ELC's are RED. Prestone makes a good one, CAT approved, says so on the front of the bottle.

I looked all over for it and couldn't find any. MidAtlantic distribution didn't even know what I was talking about.

Changing your coolant to any of the red EC-1 rated coolants WILL NOT VOID YOUR WARRANTY any more than not using Motorcraft oil will. We have been through this all several times already.

The Rotella Ultra ELC is still VERY new but your International Dealer should be able to order it if you want it. It is a molybdate infused ethylene glycol which has been used in lower concentrations in the past with nitrites and/or carboxylates BUT the Rotella Ultra ELC is also nitrite free in addition to silicate free. Nitrites are great corrosion and cavitation inhibitors but are depleted rapidly and require periodic testing for concentration to maintain effective protection levels. The simple truth is that ALL coolants should be checked at least twice a year before it becomes cold (certainly before it's cold enough to freeze) and before it becomes very hot. Happy New Year!

I got mine from the International dealer.....as others have mentioned.......On another note, how/what do you test the Ultra ELC with?
