EGR Delete & Warranty

I had my EGR deleted about 8 months ago, runs great. The other day pulling away from a stop light my turbo started making a funny noise when boosting. It sounded like a fan blade hitting the housing( tinny, screechy). I took it to Ford dealership, they said it was still under warranty ( 2007 - 74,000 miles) without looking at it. My question is has anybody lucked out and had turbo warranty work done even though the EGR was deleted? I going to play dumb and see what happens.

Well my diagnosis was way off!! It was a cracked flex pipe / y-pipe. Not covered by warranty due to the after market exhaust. $815.00 flex pipe gaskets bolts & labor.

You need to find a mod friendly dealer. I just head head gaskets, 3 injectors, and other misc. work done all under warranty.

Yes I agree, unfortunately dealers are few and far apart here in Wyoming. Still glad it was not my turbo.
