High EGT's
The event, Diesels on the Mountain is coming on July 22nd (I think). I want to run my truck down the 1/4 mile at Bandimere, but my truck runs really high EGT's (1,800*+). I have the SCTxcal2, and 4" turbo back exhaust. I asked Eric at Innovative Diesel about the temps, and he told me that they run about 2k* on there drag truck in the 1/4 mile, and I shouldn't worry about that high of a temp in a short burst like a 1/4 mile. I don't have the money for a new engine, and don't want to be one of the 'programmer statistics'.
I'm curious to see what others run in the 1/4 mile with there 6.0's. Do you think taht I'll be OK, or should I have Eric pull some fuel from that tune (xtreme)? See my sig for truck details |

I've been curious about the difference in elevation (sea level vs 5,500ft), causing high EGT's. I hit 1,200* WOT when I put it back to stock. |

I can hit 1600 at the end of the quarter mile. I would try the Outlaw Power intake and do the zoodad mod. That should get you down closer to my numbers. It also depends how you have your probe mounted. If you have the probe pointed directly into the first cylinder head it will read a little higher than others. Also, what Autometer gauges are you running? The cheaper series like the Z series can be off slightly.
If that doesn't make you feel all warm and fuzzy have Eric change the tune. I know he would be glad to make it right. |

That is an intake system that is sealed off from engine compartment heat. It also has the Never Oil filter element. Very nice.
