How to remove
How do I remove the programmer so I can have ford service the truck on monday and look at a few things. I didn't even know it had a programmer on it when I bought it so I dont know how too remove it safely. I can tell you it has a black box under the hood that says THE EDGE and then just a 3 way toggle swith in the truck. Can anyone tell me how to remove this and then put it back on later just in case ford reflashes the thing wont get wiped out or I dont want to hear them complain about the proggrammer either.

you should be able to disconnect the unit, im sure someone with more knowledge on the edge unit will post up soon.

i think thats it but i cant find the link to that particle unit. if i unistall will it pick right back up when I reinstall it

It's the only Edge product I know of for the 6.0 that has a box under the hood. You basically reverse the install instructions to uninstall it, and then reinstall it after you get the truck back from the dealer.

ok the back of the box says EJF1000 Mani facture Date 5-26-2004 ver.2.6 could this be an old part number for the EZ cause I see nothing on there website

You should just have to trace the 3 or 4 wires coming out of the EDGE. from there it is just a "Y" connection. Just unplug both ends from the "Y" and re-connect your factory connectors.

I would think, though, that the disconnect process would be similiar to the model I linked to. Does it hook up the same (cable to the PCM, etc)?

There's a link to install instructions. It looks to point to the same link as I did earlier... You might want to Google the part #; I found a lot of references to that part #.

thanks guy I needed the help I am rely stressing right now. U can look at the link titled big problems to see why I need to remove it even though it was on it when they sold it to me and I didnot even know untill yesterday
