hemi vs. 6.0

i know a guy who has a 2006 dodge hemi 2500 crew cab short bed srw with 4.10 gears and he already has exhaust (sounds great) and intake. some one told him that if he got a programer he could get close to 650 hp. we all kwow thats not going to happen. my ? is can a 6.0 cc dually 4x4 with custom sct be faster than a hemi no matter what he does, short of a supercharger or something like that

YES! With an SCT...you will be faster. Just make sure you spool the turbo before launching, and launch in 4x4!

Repairs since bought: both batteries/alternator/3 transmissions/4 clutches/entire front axle/new steering stabilizer/power steering pump

Still broken: cracked windshield/all glowplugs/glowplug relay/4WD still out/trailer harness no power

Current Best: 16.149@84.13MPH (Est.7800lbs)

No doubt in my mind. With an SCT race file you'd smoke 'em... Literally! Just make sure you launch like Ditty said.

do you really have to put it in 4wd with a dually?? done it with my bosses truck and it just took off....... not spinning at all...

but I would say that you shouldn't have any problem beating one considering that 6.0's are quicker than the 7.3L... cause I have beaten a Hemi my self... or you can say a so called hemi...

Did you power brake and boost it without spinning? Was it a 6.0L and did it have a custom tune as well? I know I don't have a dually, but if I spool up and drop the hammer without 4x4, I'll sit and spin. Makes for a hell of a smoke show, but not much of a launch...

If your boosting before the launch, your going to break those training wheels loose. Toss it in to 4WD, power brake to like 15-20 psi of boost, and hold the F on!

well crap didn't really think of that yeah it is a 7.3L and no of course no power adders it is a company flatbed truck... but it was a big difference just from stepping on it... if you build the boost.. wow I was suprised with the difference..... well lets just say that when I just stepped on it everything was alright... but when I powerbraked it the generator went flying... LOL
