So you are having a hard time finding ELC Coolant?

Yea, even with all the diesel shops near me, they all seem to sell the 50/50 mix. About 2 miles from my house, I have an international & Cummins service center. They have the Rotella ELC 50/50 for $10 a gallon. Not a bad deal. Well, since I will not be removing both block drains and I will not get all the distiled water out of my truck, I need over a gallon of ELC concentrate to go along with my 50/50 mix to get a TRUE 50/50 mix.

I found this place on line. They sell and ship single gallons of ELC.

I call the International dealer yesterday and they have the Delo ELC concentrate for $14.53 a gallon then i called the Cummins shop and they have the restore for $29.74 a gallon and then to WalMart for distilled water. All the stuff you have to go through just to get that Ford Gold cxxp out, but it is better than popping a cooler

So when I call all the diesel dealers, they are telling me they have it for 10 - 15 a gallon. When I show up it is aways 50/50 or dex cool.

I have now went to 3. The mack dealer swore to me they had, sure enough when I showed up, they were talking about freaking 50/50.

Hell with it.... I paid $6 to have it shipped. Worth saving the time of the coolant hunt.

You can use regular coolant and just add a stabilizer.. $4 at o'reillys..
It does the same exact thing... oh but wait "No you can't! It'll clog everything", "you can't use reg coolant, it will eat your motor away",
"might as well throw a g-nade in the engine bay"... Whatev. Reg coolant+stabilizer=Just fine..

its your truck, use what you want. for the time and money spent to properly maintain the gold crap though you can switch to the elc and be good for damn near the life of the truck.

uh you still have to maintain it ford or not. and if your going off the maintainace schedule of 100k after seeing all the problems on here and elsewhere then i dont know what to tell you other... than its your truck, do what you want.

Nope.. Coolant doesn't stay in my truck longer than 25,000-30,000.. Dumb to run it that long.
Ford maintenance schedule.. Pfff.. What do you think I am?? A dodge pilot?

ok, then your going to spend far more money swapping out coolant every 25-30k then anyone switching to an elc coolant ever will. doesnt make much sense unless you like to waste money.

but again, your truck, your money, your choice.

Gaskets were done 10,000miles ago. That was b4 the whole "ELC coolant" craze hit the .org with force..
So I'm just conveniently waiting to switch.. Like I've said already: I'm just letting it be known that reg coolant+stabil is fine.
