SCT Fitting Falure Chances

06 with 41k..... How often are these fittings failing? Is it an amlost all will fail thing or hit or miss?

i believe ford is only going to replace it if it failed, i don't think they will replace it as a preventative measure.

as for if it will last or not...roll the dice. however, they can fail spectacularly and cause damage to the rear cover.

My 05 made it 175k and I just changed it because I am doing head studs/gaskets. My son's 06 made it to 75k before it left him stranded. So I guess it is just luck of the draw...

Mine failed at 60k. My suggestion would be to tell the dealership you're having hot start issues and see if you can get the branch tube, STC fitting, and HPOP replaced under warranty before you're stranded

My original failed around 24k... The dealership couldn't figure it out despite me giving them the TSB... On the 4th trip back, they finally figured it out and replaced it. This time, I was a touch over 30k miles and they charged me my deductible. I haven't gone back to that POS dealership.

i made it 144k before i changed mine. general consensus is just do it i think before it causes damage
