Hello all. Just bought a 2005 F-250 SD EC 4X4 about 2 months ago. I have been doing a lot of reading and research here on the forum to have the information I need to decide what mods have been done to the truck already and what mods I need to do on a limited budget. When I was checking to see what mods may have been done. I noticed that the turbo housing said Garrett on it. I got to looking at it to see if I could find out which turbo it was. The label I found on it said Re manufactured P/N 1877832C93. Serial # 074###. I can't find any other labels on it to tell me anything else about it. I went to Garrett's website and could find anything out.
I've read about and seen on Garrett's website that the GT3788VA Turbo is suppose to be the one for the 6.0L. Does anyone have any ideas as to the best way to find out which turbo this actually is ? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Garrett/Honeywell makes the majority of turbos for all vehicles, including the powerstrokes. The garrett GT3788VA is an upgrade from the stock unit that is very popular for the 6.0, but judging on how it says "RE-manufactured", I'd say the original was replaced under warranty at some point with an original.

Garrett made the stock 6.0 turbo's.
They also have the upgrade unit, the powermax |

Thanks guys for the quick response and info.
I had an idea maybe that was the way it was. I just wasn't sure who the original supplier of turbo's was. Thank's again.
