ABS light stays on, common issue?

My ABS light now stays on all the time. For a few weeks it would come and go. Sometimes it would work and then other times it would not. It is now in the does not work mode. Where do i start? I would guess the controller under the hood is bad? In the past i have replaced a fuel injector on the drivers side, not sure if that is related but seems to have started shortly after that. How do you diagnose these ABS problems and what kind of price range to fix this?? I kind of like the peace of mind knowing the ABS works when needed. Thanks.
