Buying my first diesel 6 liter?

Looking to buy my first diesel. I'm looking at a 05 excursion with the 6 liter in it with 173k miles. I have heard horror stories about the 6 liter. I thought they cant all be that bad. Anybodys input on this would be greatly appreciated. Should I run or will it be ok. Thanks

Nobody can answer that for you. Get an Oasis report and see what its warranty history is. The 6.0 has some issues but they can all be taken care off. Sit yourself down here and read.

where do i get an oasis report from. Can I just google it?

Easiest way to do get it is to go to your local ford dealer with the VIN #. They can pull it up for free,

Spend dome time reading about egr deletes, oil cooler rebuilds, and ELC coolant and you'll pick up the most important things to address.
