Question Add VGT Cycle Back to Custom Program

I am running Extreme Street all the time and would like to have Innovative add the VGT cycle back into my Extreme Street program. I miss hearing the cycle, I thought it was cool, and I want to help prevent the turbo veins from sticking like the program was designed to do. I would like the VGT to cycle about every 10 sec anytime the truck is in park and at idle. Has anyone else done this? Is this a good idea or will it cause any problems?

That is a cool idea, I am going to shoot an email over to Vivian @ QuickTricks and see if she can do something like that.

IIRC, it Depends on what strategy you have to begin with.

Tuckman, let me know what you hear. I e-mailed Innovative, but have not got a reply yet. I will keep this thread up to date with what I learn. Does anyone else have any experience in this area?

I talked to Eric about this a while back. If your stock tune will do it, then it should do it with the tune. The only way it shouldn't is if your EGR is unplugged.

It did it with the stock tune but does not do it with Extreme Street. My EGR is plugged up, but I believe the custom tune keeps it closed. I feel sure that the custom tune does not include the VGT cycle.

I don't see why it can't be added back and if it does not have any bad side effects I want to try it.

My SRL from Matt cycles the turbo just like stock

You're going to need a new tune written with VXCF9xx as the base, I'm guessing.

My Xtreme Street does it. Not sure why yours doesn't.
