POOR PREFORMANCE

Hello everyone I am new to this fourm. I have a 2003 F-550 6.0 , I have owned since it was new. The last couple years or so this truck has been nothing but problems. Lack of power,blue smoke,idles rough , I have replaced 2 injecters ,fuel pump, EGR valve & the High volume pump. I notice where I get Fuel it says this fuel is for vehicles 2007 and up, less sulfer,could this anything to do with my problem???? This is my work truck and works been slow, winter is around the corner and I need for this truck to run right or I could LOSE EVERYTHING. PLEASE if you know what this could be let me know. Blue smoke would be insufficient fuel or oil consumption. Any CEL lights or codes pulled? I would recommend trying to get some codes pulled. Are you having any other symptoms? How does your oil on your dipstick look? Have you recently changed the fuel filters? How's your boost readings?

You could try adding some Rev-X to your next oil change. That would help your injectors. Some fuel treatment wouldn't hurt either. I'd change the fuel filters if its been over 10k miles since your last change. Turbo seals could be leaking causing some blue smoke out the exhaust. You could do an injector test if you had an AE module. Just trying to throw out some ideas.

I would start with a good tune up. Change your fuel filters and oil along with filter. Switch to a good synthetic oil. It's very simple to do and doesn't take much time.

Dump some Diesel Kleen +Cetane Boost in your next tank and follow that up with some wal-mart (1 oz/ gallon) of 2-stroke oil in every tank after that for a while.

Have you tried cleaning the EGR valve? Its a maintenence item like changing your oil and cleaning your air filter.

Yes i was cleaning it about every other week. I just bought a new one last week, it really gets carboned up pretty bad. thanks Doug
