Activating daytime running lights on 2006 F250?

Up here in Canada we need daytime running lights and the 2006 F250 I just brought up here from the US doesn't have them. I was wondering if the truck already had them and it just needed to be "activated", or if it can be done by a computer programmer, etc. Anyone know??

I think the DRLs only need the addition of the DRL relay. Not sure which one it is or where it goes though.

Cant you just turn your headlight switch onto manual? Mine has the auto but I can also turn them on manually if needed.

'05 manual shows in the power junction box that fuse #13 is for the DRL; relay 205 is a 1/2 ISO relay labeled DRL#1, relay 206 is a 1/2 ISO relay labeled DRL #2 and relay #301 is a full ISO relay labeled DRL #3. You might check those to be sure but for some reason I'm thinking the DRL module on F150's is on the driver side fender somewhere. Not sure about the superduties tho.

this is out of my 99 service manual. i wonder if its the same.

Description and Operation

PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION
The daytime running lamps are implemented by using the low beams at a reduced voltage of approximately 80% system voltage. This is accomplished by inserting a resistor in series with the low beam filaments. When the headlamp switch is engaged, the daytime running lamp function is disabled and the low beam filaments receive 100% system voltage.

hey all, thanks a lot for the replies, awesome.

Today I found a guy in craigslist who did it for $50. He did a great job, set it up properly so the lights go out when the e-brake is on and stuff. Im happy and the inspector will be happy
