egr valve removal

Is there a way to remove a egr valve or do you need a special tool to do it?

Remove the 2 bolts turn it so the 2 bolt holes are easy to get to run some wire around them with a long loop then use a bar coming off the top of the alternator and pull up
Here is the cleaning page

I tried that method some time back, mine was really stuck. I needed a 150 ton overhead crane to lift it out of the intake manifold. I never did get it out.

I simply wiggled it loose, used a ladies foot prybar on both sides, popped right out, you shouldn't need a come-a-long or overhead crane! LOL
