Bullet Proofing a 6.0L?

I plan on buying an 06 or 07 6.0l with 70k miles or less. Already have a couple in mind, and I'm hearing a lot of about "bullet proofing" these bad boys. Im willling to spend the extra 4k+ to achieve this point. Can anyone provide me with some piece of mind or tips?

Very much appreciated!

Get a coolant filter on the truck as soon as you get it. Then work on the other stuff. Rebuilt oil cooler, egr delete, get the heads decked and checked for cracks, check the block for flatness, new head gaskets, studs, ELC coolant, get the updated stc fitting if it doesnt have it, turbo drain tube and some good custom SCT tunes

If you can do it yourself you can get alot done for 4k. I would definitely start with the egr, oil cooler and coolant filter then go with exhaust and guages before adding more power.
