Question Which is best oil?????

I have an 05 6.0l and I have all the normal problems. So, after reading tons of threads on how to make things better, I've seen that what oil you put in makes a difference. So then what is the best oil? 10W30 or 15W40 and should I use synthetic? Is there anything else I should add with the oil? Any help would be greatly appretiated.

Yes synthetics is a great choice. As for the type there are a bunch of choices and more opinions than you can shack a stick at. Use the search functions and start reading. Then make your own mind up.

I just changed mine with AMSOIL Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy-Duty Diesel Oil (HDD)

Interesting thread I started.

I am facing the same decision as I just got my truck a few weeks ago. Came across this website. Definitely helps direct someone to pick the proper weight with some recommendations for each weight. This isn't a sales site, just info and analysis.

I started out with MotorCraft 15w40 and switched at 20k when i installed the Amsoil by-pass system and started useing Amsoil 15w40 just a few $$$$ more but i think it is well worth it because the injectors run in oil and they like clean oil. The Ford filter cleans to 20 microns and the by-pass cleans down to 2 microns

Where is the best place to buy oil? I've checked local auto parts stores and walmart but there is a slim selection? is there a cheaper place online to order it?

A lot of folks have been raving about the new Rotella T5 10w30. It available at Wally World at a reg. price of about $16/gal.

I prefer Amsoil myself and buy it online.
