Stupid cylinder question

Ok this might be a little silly but what is the numbering order of the cylinders? I know my gasser is 1-4 on the pass side and 5-8 is on the drivers side. I was wondering if the cylinders are numbered the same way or like the chevys are (alternating sides)
I ask because i pulled a #6 gp short/ bad gp and i wanted to make sure the connection is ok or if i need to order a new bus bar. I just put these gp in last March so i am hoping its just a crappy connection.

Not just like a chevy. 1-3-5-7 are passenger side front to back. 2-4-6-8 are drivers side front to back
