Powerstroke Magic in Houston Texas?

Ok, so my ECT and EOT are starting to worry me... and well the truck is high milage so I am thinking EGR delete and oil cooler... well since I am going to have it apart I am debating on just having it studded as well... makes sense right?

Well I am in Corpus Christi and I just don't get enough feedback on local diesel shops to really know what I will get. I found Powerstroke magic in Houston and they seem reasonable on the price for studding it, EGR, and oil Cooler. So does anyone have any experience with them?

Yup. Mine was there last month for all of the above. No complaints at all!

Any comments on pricing to do an EGR delete kit? I don't think I have the skills to do this myself but I would like to find somebody near Houston who is knowledgeable and capable. I don't know if I would trust an off-shelf mechanic if they have never done one before.

What is your ECT and EOT delta that has you concerned?

Has your truck been puking coolant? If the answer to this question is no I wouldn't mess with the heads at all with that mileage. I'd leave them alone, do the oil cooler, egr delete, and flush the cooling system and switch to a Cat EC-1 rated ELC coolant.

Any one with even moderate wrenching skills should be able to do an egr delete. It is not real difficult. Same with the oil cooler actually.

I can tell you this much, the price was low enough that I thought about driving out from California to have them do the studs on my truck. Give them a call, I'm sure they'll be more than happy to give you a ballpark quote over the phone
